Elemental Project Tornado Trip

We spent 6 days criss-crossing the Great Plains of the USA seeking out the most violent winds on the planet. On the 3rd day of our trip we intercepted a Supercell Thunderstorm in Northern Iowa that produced a Tornado. This video is a summary of that day and the following day when we drove from Iowa to Kansas in search of more storms.

Elemental Project Northern Lights Expedition

This was the first trip as part of the Elemental Project. We wanted to film and photograph the Northern Lights so we traveled to Norway in February. When we got to Tromso we found heavy cloud cover so we did a weather forecast for the next few days and decided that the best place to be was the small town of Karasjok.

One Week in April (Storm Chasing in the USA)

This is a summary of my April storm chasing trip. We saw incredible cloud formations, hail the size of baseballs and 2 tornadoes. One was near Patricia Texas the other (not in the video) was near Hill City Kansas.

This video was shot using a Sony EX1 XDCAM HD Camcorder during the last full week of April 2008.

Tornado and Supercell Near Patricia Texas, April 23rd

We Drove down from Oklahoma city under overcast gray skies. Once we got down to Snyder, Texas things really got going. The storm in this video produced a brief but strong tornado near the town of Patricia Texas.
